Show-Off

I love being a stay at home mom. But man, I thought I would get a lot more done. I think I got more done around the house when I was working.

So, I find myself trying to catch-up on my blogging again.

Grandma Came to Visit again

I think she likes Hayden, or something, cause she never came down to visit when it was just little ol' me! :)

She can't come without bring the goods:

Once in awhile he will chase the train while it is moving, but most of the time he just likes to destroy it. Boys!

Grandma also got Hayden a walker:

He is loving the freedom of being able to stroll wherever he wants. But, he loves to ride the Lion even more then the freedom.

(I don't have a video, sorry. You ask why? Well I'm good, but not that good. I can't push Hayden and record at the same time. It's not the first time I wished I had more arms, and it won't be the last.)

While grandma was here, Hayden was showing her all of his new tricks.

But one time he got a little too crazy...

This last week we went to Seattle for a day (Daddy had a business meeting).

While we were there we visited with my great grandparents: Grandpa and Grandma White.

They took mom and I on a Ferry Ride.

It was an exciting ride. I liked the water, but I LOVED watching the seagulls.

After visiting in Seattle we went to the Tri-Cities,

where I sat on my throne and wore my crown;

while my grandparents served me and showered me with the most precious toys in all the kingdom.

Hee Haw Farms

On Tuesday, we went to Hee Haw Farms to pick-out our family pumpkin.

Who needs a horse and saddle when you have a tough dad like mine?

I think the cutest pumpkin is right in the middle, wearing a black hat and gloves.

"Hmm! I've never tasted this before."

"It's a little pokey going in."

"But yep! It's pretty tastey."

Fall is just great!

And this little piggy went "wee wee wee" all the way home!

Hayden Bo-Bayden Update

Not many events have happened around here. Daddy has been super busy with work and school. Mommy and I have been enjoying the last few days of good weather, and I have been just as cute as ever and growing-up SUPER quick.

Here are some of the things I've been doing/learning:

1. I got my first gun

Don't get your panties in a bunch just yet, it's a squirt gun.

Grandpa Warren wanted to get me my first gun and just couldn't wait any longer.

As you can see, Grandpa left me some advice on the back of the packaging.

"Hayden,

Grandpa wanted to buy you your first gun. Remember - don't point it at nobody and DON'T put it in you mouth.

Love, Grandpa"

He also left mom some notes on the front. He circled the "Choking Hazard" and "For Ages 3+" and wrote "Jessica, pay no attention to this." and "It's a scare tactic! Don't believe it."

Mom won't let me take the guns out of the packaging, but the packaging is still fun to play with. Thank you Grandpa for the toy and advice!

2. I watched BYU again, but this time with Uncle Nick.

As you can tell, the game wasn't too exciting.

But I'm still a faithful fan, just as long as I have a comfy spot.

And I definatly found my COMFY SPOT!

Uncle Nick was super nice and let me climb all over his lap for a whole quarter!

3. I got STUCK!

It was terrible! I was just walking along the couch and I fell and I couldn't get out! Then mom made me take a picture, I was so mad and she laughed at me! It was horrible!

4. I've learned the motion of running and I think it's fun!

5. Daddy and I LOVE to put on a show for mom.

(Also, I love the camera.)

6. I HATE avocado.

7. And (you'll never believe this) I've learned to climb the stairs.

Dad was watching me and the TV while mom ran upstairs for something. I wanted to go with mom so I followed her, no big deal right? Wrong! I made it up a whole step before they saw me. When they found me on the stairs they made a HUGE deal about it and made me climb and re-climb the stairs several times while mom recorded. I thought I was SO big to impress the parents like that.

So that's what I've been up to the last couple of weeks! Mom and Dad say I'm growing-up too fast, but I think it's fun to be doing everything that the big kids do!

Nanna Week

Nanna came to visit!

She was here for a week

(September 20-26).

We had a BLAST!

We played hard, ate good, cuddled long, and shopped til we dropped!

And

She brought lots of goodies...

(These balls, Roll-A-Rounds, are really entertaining and just the right size).

and a CrAZy bAll that is starting to drive mom crazy.

Blake even brought me a GOODIE (I just couldn't keep it, or eat it)...

He's such a fun Uncle :)

Hayden loves the dinosaur. His favorite part is standing next to his belly and twirling the toys on top. He also enjoys catching the Roll-A-Rounds as they come out of Dino's mouth.

"I can tell that you and I are going to be good friends."

Thank you Nanna for all the treats and for the lovely visit, we already miss you!

8 months, 27 years, and Crying Cougs

8 MONTHS

So here's some things the little 8 month old is up to:

He loves to play with the blocks Grandpa made for him.

The blocks have their very own toy box. Hayden loves to take the blocks out, but he hasn't learned how to put them back in (just like when he helps with laundry). He loves to chew on them, bang them together, knock them over, and dent the floor, table, or anything that makes a loud noise.

He likes to wave.

But he waves at random times so he hasn't ALL the way figured it out. But it still brings a smile to my face when he waves, "hello", especially in the morning or after a nap.

Daddy also loves it. Hayden gives Daddy the 2-handed wave when he comes home from work. (He defiantly knows how to pull our heart strings).

Hayden loves to be on his feet.

He climbs EVERYTHING (couch, ottoman, recliners, toy box, cupboards, stairs, baskets, doors, chairs, legs, and even walls). He pretty much climbs anything that makes him taller and part of the crowd.

Not only did he learn to climb, but also how to land.

He is very cautious when it comes to landing, but it wasn't always like that. In the beginning Hayden would let go of the couch, put his hands in the air, make his eyes wide, and BAM, land flat on his back. He only did that for about 2 days. Then he learned to bend at the waist and fall on a little more cushioning, his diaper. Now he's learned to hold onto the couch and squat. If his bottom doesn't reach the floor then he reaches with his opposite hand. As soon as his hand hits the floor his knees start pumping and he's on his way to the next mountain.

27 YEARS

Happy Birthday Old Guy!

Brian got Jordans, insoles, a mini work makeover (family photos hung), money, a DQ cake, and Hayden got him matching BYU shirts.

We love you dad!

CRYING COUGS

It's okay Cougars, I still like you better than the Seminoles.

And cheer-up cause I bet they don't have a cute little fan like me.

And my Daddy and I will still monopolize the remote control every Saturday (see you next week).

Labor Day Camping

My side of the family (the Warren side) had a little mini reunion over Labor Day weekend. We went camping in Nevada at Bird Creek. The weekend went great; we had terrific weather, beautiful surroundings, and good company.

Little Monkey

Last Thursday I went into Hayden's room to get him from his nap and this is what I find...

"What Mom, Ain't I Suppose to Stand on 'Em?"

"Am I a Big Boy Now?"

The funny thing is, Hayden had a banana for the first time that morning. The banana must of had some super monkey power (like on Donkey Kong), cause I can't get him to stop climbing.

I can't believe how quickly he's growing up. It seems like he quickly discovers and then masters 'his tricks', so I never know what to expect. The *little monkey defiantly keeps me guessing.

Today I was able to video the little monkey climbing the side of his crib.

The only bad thing about all this climbing is that he won't sleep.

I remember when he was about 3 months old and he discovered how to roll. For about a week he wouldn't sleep cause every time I put him down he would practice rolling. He's doing the same thing again. I'll put him in his crib and instead of sleeping he'll practice climbing, standing and walking.

A Good Example is Right Now:

It's 10 pm, I'm typing and he's suppose to be asleep. But for the last 2 hours he's been climbing, standing, walking, falling and then trying again. And he's doing to ALL IN THE DARK. He'll get to the point where he's so tired he can't stand anymore, right?

I was also able to record Hayden crawling.

Last time I posted he was just barely taking a 1 step crawl. But now he's pretty much mastered it. Even though he can do it, it's still not his favorite and preferred mode of transportation. If he thinks he needs to get somewhere FAST he'll still do his army crawl.

*Hayden is only 1/2 monkey (it comes from his dad's side):

He loves to climb, but I have to force him to eat bananas. Who ever heard of a monkey not liking bananas? That's why I think he's only 1/2 monkey! :)
